Inflation

The monetary policy target is annual consumer price inflation of close to 2 percent over time.

Regional network

Each round of talks comprises about 300 visits. The contacts reflect the production side of the economy, both in terms of industry sector and geographic area. The network comprises approximately 1500 individuals, who are contacted once or twice a year.

Output gap

Norges Bank operates a flexible inflation targeting regime, so that weight is given to both variability in inflation and variability in output and employment.
