Regional Network report

Phone survey January 2011, summary of findings

20 January 2011

A phone survey of a sample of contacts in Norges Bank’s regional network was conducted in the period 10-12 January 2011. The survey encompassed 77 private sector enterprises nationwide and focused on developments in output and employment since November.

In November (Regional network report 4-2010), regional network enterprises expected output to grow fairly markedly in the period to spring and planned to increase employment over the next three months. Information gathered in January indicates that overall developments in both output and employment have been in line with expectations. On the whole, it would appear that market prospects for building and construction and the service industry have improved somewhat. Overall, capacity utilisation appears to be approximately unchanged.

In autumn 2002, Norges Bank established a regional network of enterprises, organisations and local authorities throughout Norway. More about the Regional Network
