Norges Bank is today publishing its statement to the annual UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP 26). Norges Bank is a member of the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS). The NGFS has today published its declaration (NGFS Glasgow Declaration) and called on its members to publish their own statements. Norges Bank’s statement provides a general overview of the Bank’s climate-related work going forward.

"Climate change and mitigation measures affect the Norwegian and global economy and have implications for Norges Bank’s mission – promoting economic stability and managing substantial assets on behalf of the Norwegian people," says Deputy Governor Ida Wolden Bache.
