Siv Meisingseth is 46, and holds qualifications in marketing, media studies and English. From 1983 to 1998, Meisingseth held various positions at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation NRK. She joined the radio news team for the last ten years of the period, where she worked as a reporter, presenter, and editor. Since 1999, Meisingseth has worked for SAS Airlines (now SAS Braathens), with responsibility for various information activities. She was also a member of the commission appointed by the Government to investigate the tsunami disaster in 2004.

Ms. Meisingseth has been named information officer of the year several times.
