In its Financial Markets Report 2025 (Meld. St. 26 (2024–2025)), the Ministry of Finance announced that it will carry out an evaluation of the monetary policy regulation. In this context, Norges Bank was asked to submit a written assessment of experience with the current regulation, as well as an assessment of international experience, including experience with supply-side disturbances and recent international research on monetary policy.

Norges Bank’s input to the evaluation, in the form of a report and a letter to the Ministry of Finance, is now available on the Bank’s website (in Norwegian only). An English version will be published in due course.
