During the meeting at the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) in Basel on 8 September 2024, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) and Norges Bank signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding. 

The intention of the cooperation memorandum of understanding is to strengthen cooperation through the exchange of information related to important topics for both central banks, for example economic developments and financial stability issues. 

The cooperation memorandum of understanding was signed by Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China and Ida Wolden Bache, Governor of Norges Bank.
