The operating schedule for Norges Bank’s settlement system (NBO) was most recently changed with effect from 1 January 2022. The operating schedule will be updated with the following changes from 17 March 2025:

• To date, NICS receives Swift gross payments from banks in NICS and forwards these to NBO. Bits AS has decided that NICS will not be developed in order to receive and process ISO 20022-based transactions. Banks currently also have the possibility to send Swift transactions directly to NBO. Henceforth, Swift gross payments will be sent directly to NBO. The operating schedule is updated to take into account that Swift gross payments are sent directly to NBO.
• To simplify contingency procedures, CLS LOM closes at the same time as NBO

In connection with the ISO 20022 project, the fee for incorrect transmission of payment orders to Norges Bank will be temporarily suspended from 15 March 2025 to 15 June 2025.

In accordance with the Terms and Conditions for Account Management at Norges Bank, Norges Bank may change the Terms and Conditions or the supplementary provisions, including the operating schedule for NBO, normally with one month’s notice. Norges Bank announces changes by circular.
