Norges Bank

Undergraduates and graduates: Internship and scholarship programmes

Norges Bank offers a variety of internship and scholarship programmes designed for students.

Internships

Several of Norges Bank's departments offer short- and long-term internships on a full-time or part-time basis. Student internships provide a unique opportunity for students to gain practical and career-related work experience. Our programmes offer you the chance to gain insight into the internal workings of the Bank and make valuable contacts.

Internships are advertised on our website in the same way as other vacancies. Register your CV to receive an alert when a vacancy is advertised.

Norges Bank's case competition

An annual case competition is arranged by Norges Bank in collaboration with student unions at institutions of higher education in economics. Teams of competing students present their solutions to an economic challenge, and the solutions are assessed by a jury of experts from Norges Bank.

PhD Scholarship Programme

Norges Bank offers a scholarship programme providing funding for Norwegian students wishing to study for a PhD in macroeconomics or financial economics at top-ranked educational institutions abroad.

Application deadline is 15 April every year.

Award for best doctoral dissertation in macroeconomics

Every three years, Norges Bank's fund for economic research awards NOK 50 000 for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of macroeconomics. Award winners are selected by a committee of two economists holding positions at the professor level at universities abroad.

To read more about the award, please see Norges Bank's fund for economic research (in Norwegian only).
