Norges Bank keeps key interest rates unchanged

Interest rates were left unchanged at Norges Bank’s Executive Board meeting on 1 November. The interest rate on banks’ sight deposits with Norges Bank and the overnight lending rate therefore remain at 7.00 per cent and 9.00 per cent respectively.

Deputy Central Bank Governor Jarle Bergo says that in the light of recent trends in the economy and the current balance of risks, the probability that the next change in interest rates will be a reduction is the same as the probability of an increase.
