If you believe there is a good reason why your notes and/or coins were not redeemed by the deadline, you may submit an application for redemption. However, applications will only be granted in exceptional cases.
The application procedure will be as follows:
- An application stating your reasons shall be sent to the head office of Norges Bank by post/e-mail. The application may also be submitted in person during business hours to reception at the Bank’s head office in Oslo. Do not send/submit notes and coins together with the application.

- Norges Bank will evaluate your application and either grant or reject it.You will be notified of the result.
- If your application is granted, please send in/submit your notes/coins to Norges Bank. The amount will be transferred to your bank account after deduction of a NOK 250 processing fee.
