Norges Bank

Banknotes 1962-1987 (series V)

Planning for this series began in 1955, right after the 5-krone banknote in Series IV was placed into circulation.

The 100-krone and 50-krone banknotes were engraved at Bradbury & Wilkinson in London, and the others at Norges Bank's Printing Works, where the graphic designers Knut Løkke-Sørensen (obverse sides) and Henry Welde (reverse sides) shared the work.

The 5-krone note was replaced by a coin in 1963, making the 10-krone banknote the smallest in this series. This banknote also "inherited" the blue colour from the old 5-krone banknotes, whereas all the other Norwegian 10-krone banknotes are yellow.
