The General Counsel holds ultimate responsibility for providing legal advice to the executive management of Norges Bank, particularly with regard to the Norges Bank Act, the constitutional position of the Bank, etc. The General Counsel is also responsible for quality assurance of legal advice provided to the Bank's departments and units relating to major issues and legal principles and for ensuring regulatory compliance in central banking operations.
