Invitation
Conference organised by Norges Bank (The central bank of Norway) 16-17 June 2005 in Oslo
Norges Bank is pleased to invite you to participate at our conference on "Banking crisis resolution - theory and policy". The conference will be held at Norges Bank in Oslo from Thursday 16 June to Friday 17 June.
The conference will deal with both theoretical and practical issues related to banking crisis resolution. We hope to draw on the accumulated experience of recent crises and give practitioners in key policy institutions some best practice advice on banking crisis resolution, including the role of central banks in crisis resolution.
As you can see from the attached programme we intend to discuss several alternative ways of dealing with a banking crisis. Speakers will include Franklin Allen (Wharton Business School), Jean-Charles Rochet (Université Sciences Sociales, Toulouse), Stefan Ingves (IMF), Charles Goodhart (London School of Economics), and Hiroshi Nakaso (Bank of Japan).
If you would like to participate in the conference, please fill in the attached registration form and send it electronically or by fax no later than 20 May. Please note that the number of participants is limited, so we must reserve the right to turn down late registrations. So please do not hesitate to register. Confirmation of participation will be given on e-mail or fax no later than 24 May.
We hope you will find the programme interesting and look forward to seeing you at this event in Oslo.
